Operation Fuel announces Perkin Simpson as new CEO

Hartford, CT – The Board of Directors of Operation Fuel is proud to announce the appointment of Perkin Simpson as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective Monday, September 9. With an extensive background in executive leadership, fundraising, and advocacy, Simpson brings a wealth of experience to further the organization’s mission to lead the way so current and future generations can thrive with secure access to heat, power, and water.

Simpson joins Operation Fuel after serving as the Executive Director of the Urban Alliance where he was instrumental in fund development and building strategic initiatives. Under his leadership, the Urban Alliance saw sustainable growth within its current programs and the strategic development of new programs to help in its mission to address structural inequities that affect access to food, health, education, mental health, and other life needs.

Simpson is pursuing his PhD in Finance and Retirement Plan Services and holds a Master of Science in Financial Services from The American College at Bryn Mawr, a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences from the University of Connecticut.

“I am truly honored to join this exceptional family here at Operation Fuel and look forward to being an integral part of its next chapter. While we continue delivering solutions and advocating for those in need, we look forward to exploring new opportunities to ensure that everyone has uninterrupted access to heat, water, electricity, and other essential needs,” says Simpson.

Roxanna Booth, Operation Fuel’s Chief Advancement Officer, has been serving as interim CEO during the search for new leadership. The Board thanks Booth for providing outstanding leadership to Operation Fuel and for her commitment to its mission. They are deeply appreciative of her dedication and the significant achievements and service she has created over the past nine months.
