Generation Power CT provides emergency energy and water assistance to households in Connecticut in crisis.

Before you apply for help, you need to gather:

4 Weeks of Income

from everyone in your house who is 18 years or older.

Name of the Company that Delivers your Fuel

if you are a deliverable-fuel customer.

Your Most Recent Utility Bill and Payment History

if you are an electric, gas, and water customer.

NOTE: Eligible residents can only receive ONE grant per year. For example, if you were approved for a grant on 8/1/23, you will not be eligible again until 8/1/24.

A Generation Power CT energy grant is not an entitlement to all Connecticut residents who fall within income guidelines.  

2-1-1 operates 24-hours-a-day, every day of the year, and TDD access is available

Generation Power CT serves households whose income does not exceed 75% of the State Median Income Guidelines, which include, but are not limited to, the elderly, disabled, working families, or individuals facing a financial crisis.
