General FAQ’S
We’ve grown beyond solely providing emergency support. The name “Operation Fuel” no longer reflects the full scope of our work. Generation Power CT captures our commitment to long-term energy equity, sustainability, and community empowerment. While emergency assistance will always be at the core of our services, our new name speaks to our role in shaping a future where all generations can thrive.
For Clients
Not at all. When we are in season, eligible households can still apply for utility assistance online or in person at your local application support center. For more information about how to apply for emergency assistance, visit our Get Help page.
All eligibility criteria remain the same. Current and future applicants will not be affected by the rebrand.
For Donors
Absolutely! Only our name has changed. Our mission and fiscal responsibility remain the same. For more information about how your donations make an impact, visit our Give Help page.
You may see communications such as our direct appeals, newsletters, and annual report featuring our new name or Operation Fuel during our transition. Both names refer to the same trusted nonprofit organization, and all donations and documentations remain valid and tax-deductible.
Your continued support is vital. Alongside donating, you can help us spread the word by sharing our updates on social media, attending our outreach events, and inviting your colleagues and loved ones to learn more about our organization.
For Legislators
Yes. Operation Fuel will be a DBA (doing business as). Our legal and contractual commitments remain fully intact.
Legally, our name remains Operation Fuel (DBA Generation Power CT), which protects all of our current sources of funding, including the Add-A-Dollar program that appears on utility bills. As the new name better describes the essential work we do, we expect the rebrand will help us expand our donor base and program impacts.
As our organization grows, our advocacy efforts are more important than ever. We will continue working with lawmakers, agency leaders, regulators, and other partners to advance policies such as increasing funding for energy assistance; ensuring utility service for medically vulnerable residents; developing affordable payment plans for limited-income ratepayers; and expanding access to clean energy technologies.
No. Legally, our name remains Operation Fuel and we hold a DBA [doing business as] for Generation Power CT. Our statutory, legal and contractual commitments remain fully intact.

No. Workflows, agreements, and contracts remain in place. Your point of contact and day-to-day will continue as usual.
Your organization’s voice is the most powerful in helping us introduce our new name. Once we have made the transition, we will link a small toolkit with GIFs, digital stickers, and email templates to help you confidently share the news. You play a key role in helping us build awareness and trust across the state, so let’s amplify the message together.

Until you’re there, you’ll never understand what people without heat go through. Nobody should have to go cold. I’m truly grateful, and I have 100% faith in the organization’s cause.” Judi, a Vernon resident whose furnace broke down
