Operation Fuel’s Emergency Utility and Energy Assistance Programs for CT Residents to Open January 27
[Hartford, Connecticut] — January 22, 2025 — Operation Fuel, a nonprofit providing emergency assistance to income-eligible CT residents struggling with utility and energy costs, will open its 2025 Winter Energy Assistance program on Monday, January 27, 2025. Emergency support from Operation Fuel helps individuals and families throughout Connecticut stay warm and safe during the coldest months of the year.
“Our energy assistance program is about more than just covering heating costs—it’s about providing a safety-net for our community members struggling during economic hardship, and
empowering them towards a secure, sustainable future,” said Perkin Simpson, CEO of Operation Fuel. “We’re here to make sure no one has to face the cold alone.”
In addition to helping residents secure delivered fuel and pay down past due electric and gas bills, Operation Fuel partners with Aquarion Water Company, Connecticut Water Company, and the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) to help those customers by providing direct bill support. All three programs opened on January 6, 2025, and will remain open until funding expires. Operation Fuel’s assistance programs are available to low- and moderate-income households, ensuring equitable and secure access to heat, power, and water for as long as funding is available.
